A rights group from the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has come up with a set of guidelines to help people ensure safe AI use. The list was announced at the meetup of the Public Voice coalition aimed at addressing Internet-related issues.

The experts of the organization believe that 12 guidelines on robotics would help mankind ensure safe AI use. The authors were trying to outline key principles to protect human rights, prevent discrimination and minimize a possible loss of control over AI. The rights group makes sure these guidelines would be effective if every developer in the sphere of artificial intelligence follows them.

The activists advise the U.S. authorities to adopt the set as an official code of rules on working with AI. This proposal was announced in an open letter signed by 200 experts and 50 organizations (including the Federation of American Scientists).
